What is 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 telling us?_

With great deference to the ladies, I must submit a response in support of God’s word.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

God is not the author of confusion but or order, physically, spiritually, culturally, societally, etc. There is an order and a hierarchy to all creation.

Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Mankind is a high-value item, but male and female have their place in the order of culture and society as God designed it. Both will be judged in accordance with that order. Man is just as guilty if not more for the subsequent disorder of the design.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.No matter what anyone may desire, men and women are different, not equal, biologically and one cannot be changed into the other. Yet, neither has been given authority to forced the other to comply to God’s laws. It is to each and everyone to chose to seek and obey God or not.

As similitudes the Scriptures transcend all historical and cultural limitations; that is, the commandments, doctrines and lessons of the Bible are eternal, as applicable today as when they were written. Its teachings cannot be dismissed on the tenuous excuse of historical progress or cultural bias. The times and cultures for the settings of the lessons of scripture were well chosen by God to conveying his exact meaning. These teachings stand at anytime in history; man has not evolved to greater truths, but fallen away from the truth. In condemning Israel the Lord stated:

Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

There is no need that I say more just to increase the ire I shall incur. The points of incursion into this topic are vast but the conclusion is simple. When Eve disobeyed, certain curse were brought upon her.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Those maledictions may have been eased in certain conditions but they have not been repealed as yet.

1 Timothy 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

The book is the book. You either have faith and trust in God or you don’t. You can always find yourself another version that reads more to your liking.
