And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

1 Samuel 17:4

How tall was Goliath?

A cubit is the length from your elbow to the tip of your longest finger. Currently, as far as I am aware, there are a couple of competing cubits, 18″, 21″, or 24″. Of course if you were using Goliath cubit it would be a bit more. A span is 4″ to 6″.

A 18″ cubit would = 9′ + a span of 4″, 6″ = top end 9″ 6″
A 21″ cubit would = 10′ 6″ + a span of 4″, 6″ = top end 11′
A 24: cubit = 12′ + a span of 4″, 6″ = 12′ 6′

Goliath is not said to be a giant but a son of the giant.

1 Chronicles 20:6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.

Apparently, there was somebody bigger somewhere.
