It appears, at least if you are using a KJV, that it was God manifested in the form of his future incarnation, a man. It would have been no different than when the Trinity appeared to Abraham.
Genesis 18:2-3 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:
It was most likely a prophetic utterance on the Kings part.
It is, as most things, a controversial issue within the “Church”.
