For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:29

Romans 8:29-30 are two of the most misunderstood, misinterpreted, sentences in the Bible.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

It was the Word whom God foreknew, the Word that was God manifested in the flesh, the Word that was conformed to the image of God’s Son, and who was the firstborn of many brethen. The many brethren are those whom God will call, justify, and glorify due to their faith in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:15-18 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
