Famine of Hearing the Word of the LORD

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: 12And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Amos 8:11-12

This prophecy is fulfilled today. Running from translation to translation but never able to say here we have the word of God. This is a better translation, it should have been translated this way, this manuscript is older than that one, my scholarship is better than your scholarship, we are lost is a sea of confusion.

English readers have access to more translations of the Bible than readers of any other language. The American Bible Society estimates that there have been around 900 full and partial biblical translations into English. Naturally, that staggering number isn’t readily available, but you can easily order more than 50 different translations in your favorite bookstore, and many more can be found in used bookstores and libraries.

As can be seen from the responses you have received as with this same question each time it is asked confusion reigns over the issue.

I will send a famine in the land,
of hearing the words of the LORD:
And they shall wander from sea to sea,
to seek the word of the LORD,
and shall not find it.

10 Bible Translations You’ve Never Heard Of

If God did not preserve his word from the originals through copies and translations then we do not have his word. Men have forsaken and lost his word from time to time but God has always preserved it and brought it forth in the manner he chooses and in His timing.

2 Kings 22:8 And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

Jeremiah 36:27-28 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying, 28 Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.

I am not looking for the best translation man can come up with. I am looking for the one God preserved and has revealed to be His.

God chose to take 1,600 +/- to complete and compile the OT and the same for the NT. God does things like repeating history to reveal his hand in things.

No one has ever confessed that they have the inerrant preserved word of God in their hands unless holding a King James (Jacob) Version. Maybe they are crazy, maybe we just do not have God’s word anywhere in any translation??

The King James Bible is the most loved, lauded, hated, disparaged, version of the Bible there is. Whatever is thought of it, it remains the center of the controversy. For more responses on the subject see the following:
