God’s Will Changed?

Does or can the will of God be changed?

It would depend on how the will of God is meant to be interpreted within the framework of a question. If it is meant to be understood as the purpose of his overall plan in creation and not an event in time then no, the will of God does not change.

Jeremiah 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Acts 17:30-31 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

His purpose in creation, salvation, and the end results are his predestined intent that will not change.

This does not mean he cannot or does not make changes to things he set forth within his overall plan without changing the intent or results.

Examples:

Rejecting Saul after he made him king for the reason given.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Sparing Nineva after they repented in sackcloth and ashes.

Jonah 3:10 KJV And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

It depends on the definition of God’s will you are inquiring about.
