What does Romans 8:11 mean?

Romans chapter 8 is by many highly misinterpreted and misunderstood. It is a summary of Chapters 1-7 centered on the comparison of the save vs the lost: those with the Spirit dwelling in them and those without the Spirit.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

“Therefore” after all I said, chapters 1-7, chapter 8 therefore, is the conclusion or summary of it all. Chapter 8 highlights the comparison between the saved, those the Spirit dwells in, versus the lost, those that do not have the spirit dwelling in them. Romans 8 is not speaking of any individual saint doing right or not. It only deals with the group consisting of the saved and the group consisting of the lost. Applying it to individuals is the basic error made.

Romans 8:9-11 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Verse 11 states that if the Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the Dead is in you, he will quicken or make ysu alive, resurrect, us from death.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
